Second graders have been taking their learning outdoors! Each day the class visits their outdoor classroom for instruction in math and reading, as well as exploration and discovery of the natural elements surrounding them. Some interesting visitors have included birds, chipmunks, crayfish, water striders. The class also enjoys cooperative building of dams and bridges, creating forts, and playing in the stream. In addition, the second grade heads out each week for their Wednesday Wanders exploring local areas of interest including the trails on Ascutney Mountain.
